A beautiful day for a walk in the park.  - Saturday March 11, 2017.

Swan Lake Village area, Markham, Ontario.

This year Feb and early march were like spring and on March 9th most of the Ice went out of the lake. Immediately migrating birds like the Merganser, Trumpeter Swan and Mallard ducks moved into the lake. March 10th saw even more of the ice dissapear until the lake was 75% ice free. However extremely cold strong winds moved into the area on Friday and on Saturday 11th the lake froze over again. Friday was a beautiful day for a walk in the park but it really was far too cold and windy to take pictures or enjoy the walk. Romeo & Juliet should return to the lake on April 1st along with the traditional Parade.
