Swan Lake Park - June 7th, 2015

Mute Swan
Around 3:30pm today Romeo and Juliet took the Cygnets out onto the lake to swim and get a meal.
The Cygnets stay very close to their mother Juliet as they swim out.

Here you can see the whole family swimming out into the lake.
Romeo bringing up the rear, helping to guard the Cygnets.
The Cygnets have bonded to their mother and will stay very close to her until they gain some confidence.

Close up of the Cygnets from the previous picture.

Juliet with her head underwater pulling up water plants to feed the Cygnets.

Both parents are pulling up the water plants and droping them on the surface of the water where the cygnets can easily get them.

Juliet is pulling up more plants and you can see the Cygnets are enjoying their meal.

The Cygnets are tired and Romeo and Juliet bring them back to the nest where they must climb the slope up to the nest before resting.
