Various photo's from my walks through Swan Lake Park from July 26th to Aug 14th.

Swan Lake Park - July 26, 2013

Red-winged Blackbird
This female Red-winged Blackbird just caught a dragonfly and is enjoying the light snack.

American Goldfinch
Sitting in a tree near the entrance to the park.

Red-winged Blackbird
This male Red-winged Blackbird was perched on a cattail at the east pond.

Caspian Tern
We have two Caspian Tern's visiting the lake almost every day now.
They are great fun to watch as they circle the lake looking for fish below the surface and dive into the water to catch them.

Slider Turtles
Shot this picture from the bridge on Turtle Inlet (NW end of Swan Lake).

Mallard Duck
These ducklings were born very late in the season and their mother has been taking them all over the lake searching for food. The swan's have been very tolerant of them and let them eat the swan's food at the Swan feeding station.
This picture was shot from the bridge at Turtle Inlet.

Swan Lake Village - August 3rd, 2013

Black Eyed Susan
On the way to the park I passed a neighbours beautiful garden and took a closeup shot of one of the Black Eyed Susan blossoms.

Swan Lake Park - Aug 3rd, 2013

Great Blue Heron
This picture of a Great Blue Heron was taken from the turtle inlet bridge at the northwest end of Swan Lake.

Black Crowned Night Heron
This picture of a Black Crowned Night Heron was also taken from the Turtle Inlet bridge. It was perched in the trees across the lake and it was very difficult to take the picture due to the distance and the shade from the large trees around it.

Swan Lake Village - August 10th, 2013

Eastern Cottontail Rabbit
While walking to the park we noticed this Eastern Cottontail Rabbit eating the weeds on a neighbours lawn.
