A beautiful day for a walk in the park.

Friday May 03, 2013.

Swan Lake Village area,
Markham, Ontario

A few pictures taken over the last two days while enjoying the summer like weather.

Swan Lake Park - May 2nd

Mute Swan
Juliet standing up in the nest looking at her eggs.

My best count indicates still only 6 eggs in the nest.

Northern Cardinal
The male Cardinal landed right beside the path just below the Swan Club.

Red-Winged Blackbird
Caught this picture of the Red-Winged Blackbird in flight near the landing. Currently you will see a number of these birds re-enacting arial dogfights over the paths as they try to protect their territory from other black birds.

Swan Lake Park - May 3rd

Mute Swan
Romeo in full display as he hunts for geese to chase.
In this shot he stopped for a second to check out the photographer.

Yellow-rumped Warbler
Adult male Yellow-rumped Warbler (Myrtle subspecies) that I've been seeing in the trees beside the path near the Swan Club.
