Swan Lake Park |
Mute Swans |
Romeo and Juliet are still staying at the Island near the pier. |
Mallard Ducks. |
The ducks were sunning themselves on a log near the pier as well. |
Turtle. |
Also enjoying the sun on another log beside the Ducks. |

A gentleman was sitting in a camp chair near the pier using a remote control to control this model sailboat. |
Model Sailboat |
Tacking into a strong wind. |
Great Blue Heron |
At least one of the Great Blue Herons is still on the lake. Excuse the quality of the shot, the Great Blue Heron was sitting in a tree on the far side of the lake about 400 meters away and was not visible at that distance to the human eye. |
Red Tailed Hawk. |
Two Red Tailed Hawks were flying over the lake. |
Black-crowned Night-Heron (juvenile) |
We were at the bridge at the far western part of the lake when we noticed an unusual large bird well camouflaged in amongst some branches. It took a very long time to figure out what this bird was but it turned out to be a juvenile "Black-crowned Night-Heron" |
Turtles |
In the same area we saw a very well organised group of turtles sharing a single branch floating in the water. |
Monarch Butterfly |
As we finished our walk a Monarch butterfly landed nearby. |
Monarch Butterfly |
With wings closed. |
