What a surprise Cindy and I saw 3 Great Blue Herons on Swan Lake. July 22nd, 2011
Two in the water and one on a branch above and behind them.
This shot was taken from the pier and the Herons were on the far side of the lake.



We walked around the lake, out to the point and got some closer shots of one of the Great Blue Herons.
The Heron is a relatively cautious bird and as we walked down to the shore the only one we could see
flew across the lake and landed on the far shore.
This shot of the Heron landing caught the light just right and shows why it is called the Great 'Blue' Heron.





Romeo and Juliet have been spending a lot of their time on the Island near the pier.



However Romeo came over to check the Feeding Station.

On the way to the pool we saw this cute fellow sitting on the grass near the curb. (Oasis Way)
